I strongly recommend you read this series in order [Witchling, Changeling, Darkling, Dragon Wytch, Night Huntress, Demon Mistress, Never After (anthology), Bone Magic, Inked (anthology), Harvest Hunting, Blood Wyne, Hexed Anthology"ice shards", Etched in Silver novella and Courting Darkness] prior to reading this installment.

I didn't enjoy this installment as much as I thought I was going to and it took me far longer than I would've liked to finish this book. The story started off really slow. The main investigation was disorganized and filled with too many secondary character interactions.

This installment did not do Delilah any favors, she looked like a tag-along in her own book. Most of this book seem to be about everyone else but Delilah. Shade is a HUGE mystery; the author could've spent so much more time delving into his background and how his fate intertwined with Delilah's. That alone could've made one heck of a story.

I rated this book 3-stars because the story was interesting. Albeit, the whole novel felt like a set-up for the next installment; basically a huge waste of time and felt like the sisters were running in circles chasing their tails.

I think Iris's wedding should've been a novella on its own. Instead it was mixed into Delilah's journey with the two parts colliding and feeling mashed together. The wedding took up most of the beginning portion of the book. I enjoyed Iris's background adventure from the Hexed anthology and would've enjoyed a short story on her wedding just the same.

One thing I did like is that the men in Delilah's household are fully domesticated and don't mind pulling their weight at home. They also don't mind "manning" the home front while the sisters go out and handle their business.

I recommend this book and series to fellow dark urban fantasy readers and will read the next book Shadow Rising due out 10/30/12.
I also recommend:
Night Myst (Indigo Court, Book 1)
Blood Song
Bloodstone (A Deadtown Novel)
Once Bitten
On the Edge (The Edge, Book 1)

Shaded Vision An Otherworld Novel Yasmine Galenorn 9780515150353 Books Reviews

I enjoyed this book as much as the others in the series. These books could stand alone but work and tie in well to each other to make an engrossing series. This book left me waiting for more, I turned the page and got more, then dang it I was at the end. Can hardly wait for the next one.
The sisters have located another piece of the relic. And its up to them and their allies to find it. And secure it. But so does Shadow Wing too. The sisters have added problems which they don't need. Also attacks were-shapes, and the otherworld visitors. And dangerous ghosts too!
The series is a decent read. Like that the books switch between the 3 sisters. Some of the books are more sexual then others and some are darker then others. All are worth reading.
I love all books from this Author. I could not put this book down until I read it. The author's writing is excellent and I wish that others take notice. It is really annoying when there are grammatical errors or something left out. This author never has any errors and it is one reason that I love her books. The other reason are that she has a wonderful imagination and I always look for her books or similar books.
Back to the main thread here as tensions with Shadow Wing develop and they face yet another of his generals. They keep getting nastier and nastier, and you wonder what comes next and what trick they'll pull out to come out on top this time.
It was a fun read, but I wish Delilah had grown more.

******************SPOILERS******************************

The scene where she and Shade are discussing her hair balls and liter box. Really? We're at book eleven and she's still cool with her room literally smelling like poop?

Also I know they can't win 'em all, mostly cause that would mean the series would be done now. But the way they went after this book's Spirit Seal was just stupid. Why hash it out in a huge battle on the enemies turf? Why not find the evil person in possession of it and catch them off guard and snatch it? They knew who had it early on but they never simply went after the bad guy that had it. Even though they knew a crap load of other people were after it.

Poor Zach. He got done dirty. And we never got to say goodbye.

And can we please talk about Sharah. That chick is shady as hell. She wanted Chase from jump. She's the one who sent Delilah to the office to catch Chase banging his ex. I bet she had a hand in Delilah getting her hands on the immortality potion. Then Chase is all confused and adjusting after taking it, says he's not ready to date, yet next thing you know he's dating Sharah. And now she "accidentally" get's pregnant?Wait what? Otherworld has the most full proof birth control ever. You go to the witch lady, she halts you fertility until you go back to her and reinstate it. So how could she accidentally get knocked up, and how could Delilah not point that out to Chase? What is her real deal? When she screws them over it will be royally (pun intended) and I won't feel bad for them in the least.
The sister's are great. Under adverse condition they have each other's back and family is strong. But this family is more then blood related but deed. The sister's keep growing with hope for future
